A painting of a group of deer in a winter forest. The deer are looking inquiringly at us - as deer do - and there is a suggestion of frosty branches and trees and snow. The style is a little art nouveau and slightly abstract and expressionist. The colours are pale with lots of white. The name refers to the fact that deer are often seen as being guide between this world and another. Living near the Ashdown forest as I do, I often see them and do find them beautiful and mysterious
