A woman stands on the rocks in the bottom left. She looks at the large sea and admires the colours of the sunset on the waves. The ocean moves restlessly back and forth and light from the setting sun glitters and sparkles off of them. It is always hard to paint something like this which is a theme that has been tackled in so many other paintings. I am pleased with the result though and feel it is a good Expressionist seascape inspired by many trips to Beachy Head (Eastbourne, Sussex).
