Print of Magic Lingers
A Lingering Magic is a painting on canvas of an autumn woodland walk. The painting shows a view past colourful autumn trees to a pond on the left where the light through the trees highlights a swallow skimming insects above the surface of the pond. The painting was begun last October after a walk I took in the Lewes area of Sussex. It had been raining for weeks and the Ouse valley was flooded with lots of extra ponds and streams having formed. The swallow was a surprise as she should have left for Africa but maybe she was happy to stay a little longer. She is my lingering magic. I like paintings that transport me to lovely places when I look at them. This one takes me somewhere magical – hence the title.
