Freedom is a an oil painting showing a lone seagull gliding over a calm blue sparkling sea. The ocean is tranquil and the gull is in no hurry. Behind her, the sea glows white towards the horizon which is lost in a white haze. Light sparkles show on the peaks of the turquoise blue waves. I painted this because I wanted something calming and serene and find it represents freedom for me. I also painted it during the hot summer days of July and really wanted to be on holiday so it became a substitute :-) It had to be a lone gull because I am a fan of Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.
